Alp d’Huez is the most famous 2026 Tour de France climb and a regular in pro cycling races. Tour de France pros will complete Alp d’Huez in around 35 minutes but we’ll be happy if we manage to complete the cycling climb in under 1 hour…
After failing this road bike cycling challenge last year we’ve kitted Ed out with some of the fastest road bike equipment in the world including a Colnago V5Rs climbing bike, Hunt 4AM Limitless carbon road bike wheels, DMT shoes just like Tadej Pogacar, Goodyear road bike tires and an Abus helmet which is used in the Tour de France peloton.

now it's the fun part. go down alpe d'huez
13:39 lol I said this yesterday after finishing L’Etape du tour.
I feel like anyone who can hold 260 watts plus for an hour is not really an amateur
Mallorca Tour sub 12h
Make him to the Fred Whitton challenge
Fair play! That’s a massive accomplishment 💪
So fun! “It might give you a sense of urgency you didn’t otherwise have.” 😂
Shoutout to the riders in blue, Cykelnerven. They ride several Tour summits every year to save up money for helping people with Sclerosis. I think I recognized a colleague of mine in the crowd.
Of course I did it in 52 minutes. First time no sweat (actually a lot). I was not even an amateur.
Is this actually the finish line of Alpe d'Huez? Thought it is further up
Cracking!!
A well earned beer!
Definitely the Stelvio Pass (Passo dello Stelvio) in the Italian Alps. The iconic climb from Prato allo Stelvio is 24.3 km long with an average gradient of 7.4% and 48 legendary hairpin turns leading to the 2,757 m summit. Let's gooooooo!!
Many years ago, the Milk Race went through the Chilterns, so I chose a steep and long hill to watch and film them. Waste of time, they went past in a flash. I could not BELIEVE it!
1 ring set up, lower rim profile and no sox 😂
Hour record next?
Oh that's my goal as well but on zwift 😊
what was the average watt? Ed’s average power was 255 W which means 3.64 W/Kg
Sticky bottle – disqualified 😀
I did the official strava segment is 52:33 at 317W which I was pretty proud of. The full segment til the arch took me 57:01 at 316W. Not bad I think.
I'm gonna say that this bike is around 6.9kg with spds but we will see at the end 🙂
12:16 Except for Lorena Weibes if it's 6.78kg.
Chapeau! Well done! BTW, I love that bike …..
Ed should ride trough Arenberg forest or maybe the Koppenberg/Paterberg
21c is quite warm? For who? Eskimos? That's 69F, which is amazing cycling weather. And you're squirting water on him like it's 35C! Give me a break, you Brits will winge about anything.
Also, him losing a few kilos would have done him much better than that bike.
Well fuckin done!
WELL DONE TO CAMPAGNOLO & COLNAGO FOR THE BIKE!
IT MAKE'S A CHANGE TO THE USUAL AWFUL BLAND, CLONE BIKE WITH SHIMA(NO!).
That's a lot of $cratch to save ~1 min
Colle delle Finestre in less than 2 hours next.
