  1. Yes, absolutely. The low viscosity stuff is more MTB specific. In fact, I’m not sure if Shimano even allows the low viscosity stuff in road brakes.

    Low vis is for some of the new mtb brakes only. Use the standard mineral oil

    I remember coming across this in the manual while bleeding my own brakes.

    this is non-exhaustive, but according to the store page as of rn (July 2026), the low-viscosity stuff is only for Shimano XTR M9200 / M9220 | Deore XT M8200 / M8220 brakes

    Shimano brakes work with pretty much everything that is liquid. But yeah, what you have is the correct stuff according to Shimano.

    1 Liter of oil is a lot for one bike 😂. You’ll only need a few ounces of it at a time
