Hello. I'm wondering if I can bleed my r7170 (105 di2) brakes with this. Or does it have to be the low viscosity one? There's some fluid in the system from the factory but I don't want to mix if they're different.
Yes, absolutely. The low viscosity stuff is more MTB specific. In fact, I’m not sure if Shimano even allows the low viscosity stuff in road brakes.

Low vis is for some of the new mtb brakes only. Use the standard mineral oil

I remember coming across this in the manual while bleeding my own brakes.
this is non-exhaustive, but according to the store page as of rn (July 2026), the low-viscosity stuff is only for Shimano XTR M9200 / M9220 | Deore XT M8200 / M8220 brakes

Read the bottle bro, it says on there what models it’s compatible with.

Already been answered (yes this bottle is exactly what you need), but for the future you can always check with Shimano themselves – look up your part on si.shimano.com. As you can see here, they don’t mention low viscosity oil for your brake: https://si.shimano.com/en/dm/RADBR10/replace_genuine_mineral_oil.

Shimano brakes work with pretty much everything that is liquid. But yeah, what you have is the correct stuff according to Shimano.

Di2 shifters only use wireless mineral oil

1 Liter of oil is a lot for one bike 😂. You’ll only need a few ounces of it at a time
