I sized a new chain with the big big + 2 method. Now I can’t seem to get it routed through the derailleur properly. I’m a novice when it comes to bikes. Mostly just work on my car and there’s no chains on that 😂 the tension pulley is not keeping tension. Any help would be appreciated. THANK YOU

You’re derailleur is either broken of just set up wrong. Im going to lean towards broken.
The rear derailleur is spun all the away around
upside down
looks like you have a broken RD.

It looks like your p tension spring has popped out of place. you should be able to remove the lower cage from the main body, replace the spring and wind it back into place.
Idk much about bikes with hangers that aren’t built in, but there is usually a part the derailleur screw should engage BEFORE being tightened.
Is the b screw missing?
The cage has rotated further than it should. There is a bolt or pin that keeps it from unwinding when not in tension. Either it was sort of pulled over that bolt or that bolt has fallen out. You can rewind that spring replace that bolt if it has fallen out. Let’s see some close up pictures of the back side of the derailleur.
Your derailleur is so fucked it might be pregnant with a bunch of tiny ones.

Do the jockey wheels spin freely?
SOLVED. The cage had sprung past the stop on the derailleur. I took it apart and realized that and fixed it! Now to adjust everything THANK YOU ALL
When the derailleur can’t get it up..
I think you somehow spun the derailleur arm clockwise.
Try spinning it counter clockwise 1 turn then reinstall the chain. Maybe the stop for the arm is broken off
Did you disassemble the derailleur?
Loosen the mounting bolt to the hanger and put some lube on the pivot springs
Sometimes the Derailleur cage can get flipped around. You might just have to take the chain off, flip the cage back around to re tension the spring, and put the chain back on.
