Wonder why the French cannot crack down on these gangsβitβs awful that you have to accept it as part of daily life.
I have made two trips to Paris of two weeks each. My pockets were never picked, as far as I know. But, I am a veteran. And I learned how to "harden the target" in Asia. I carried my money in two pockets. The small bills, that I would spend, in one pocket. And the larger bills, that I would not take out of my pocket in the other. Bear in mind that Euros are physically larger as the denomination gets higher. And, they are color coded. I also tried to dress like a local, as much as I could. Trousers, a sport coat and, at minimum, a polo shirt. That was with walking shoes that look like dress shoes. I carry my camera everywhere I go. But I carry it in front of myself with the strap wrapped around my wrist. My cameras are not new, so I hope that they don't attract attention. But being mostly metal, they can get heavy. I also walk as if I know where I am going. Have had good luck, so far.
When travelling, I never carry anything of value except in a pocket with a button down cover or a zip fastener. While an expert pick pocket might be able to unzip or unbutton a pocket, it is much more difficult than simply lifting something out of an open pocket. Also, I also divide my cash and cards into two small wallets, kept in different pockets. So, if one wallet is lost or stolen, I am not left without money.
Pick pockets don't seem to exist much in America. I think it's because a lot of Americans are armed and dangerous and it's not a safe activity to attempt because there is nothing in my bag worth dying for.
12 minutes of basically nothing. Total vagueness.
no they do not all look the same but most do, roma
I donβt understand why even is carrying the purse over there coat? Isnβt it safer to put your crossbody purse under your coat ???
3:16 is this hand of an alien species coming from outerspace ? Looks like the weird hand in Total Recall.
What a time to be alive… sigh
Why bother going to Paris? They do not like Americans!
Really you fell for that?
Not a safe place anymore
Paris is a safe place? Yeah, rightβ¦.
I love how you saying this but its never reported as unsafe
Can you carry a whistle to scar them away.
Just don't go! Boycott those countries.
Why dont people set them up with mouse traps in their bags? Snap their finger's in them and they will learn!!
I made myself some toggles (wooden toggles of Amazon and paracord) and added them to my backpack zippers. Very hard to untangle without anyone noticing.
I thought I knew and was street savvy, my daughter, who lives in NYC, knew straight away when some young chick engaged my daughter, who is a real tough one handled the potential pick pocket, she was trying to get my watch.
Italy is worse as is Spain
So paying outrageous prices and thieves everywhere , doesn't make Paris an attractive vacation destination.
Why European governments don't do anything to stop this??? Police arrest them then release them!!!! They can't put them in prison??? Europe is destroyed by too much socialism
