  1. I have made two trips to Paris of two weeks each. My pockets were never picked, as far as I know. But, I am a veteran. And I learned how to "harden the target" in Asia. I carried my money in two pockets. The small bills, that I would spend, in one pocket. And the larger bills, that I would not take out of my pocket in the other. Bear in mind that Euros are physically larger as the denomination gets higher. And, they are color coded. I also tried to dress like a local, as much as I could. Trousers, a sport coat and, at minimum, a polo shirt. That was with walking shoes that look like dress shoes. I carry my camera everywhere I go. But I carry it in front of myself with the strap wrapped around my wrist. My cameras are not new, so I hope that they don't attract attention. But being mostly metal, they can get heavy. I also walk as if I know where I am going. Have had good luck, so far.

  2. When travelling, I never carry anything of value except in a pocket with a button down cover or a zip fastener. While an expert pick pocket might be able to unzip or unbutton a pocket, it is much more difficult than simply lifting something out of an open pocket. Also, I also divide my cash and cards into two small wallets, kept in different pockets. So, if one wallet is lost or stolen, I am not left without money.

  3. Pick pockets don't seem to exist much in America. I think it's because a lot of Americans are armed and dangerous and it's not a safe activity to attempt because there is nothing in my bag worth dying for.

  4. I thought I knew and was street savvy, my daughter, who lives in NYC, knew straight away when some young chick engaged my daughter, who is a real tough one handled the potential pick pocket, she was trying to get my watch.

  5. Why European governments don't do anything to stop this??? Police arrest them then release them!!!! They can't put them in prison??? Europe is destroyed by too much socialism
