I have crash bars on both my Sportsters . These bikes are heavy, even though they make it look easy on YouTube videos to pick up after you drop them, NOT !! It takes a lot of energy, and the crash bars will not only save you from really causing damage, but the bike won't go all the way down.
My msf course i did the same thing but also pulled the throttle. Luckily they made us cover the clutch at all times. I twisted my back BUT i kept it under me and from falling. I hurt for a few weeks but valuable lesson learned.
Well, that's the first lesson out of the way. Never drop a bike unless you have a large audience or a camera rolling. He looked pretty smooth, too. He'll get it.
Just got my first bike this past Sunday at 19 years old. She’s a 94 Sporty XL1200. I had very little prior riding experience and have honestly struggled these past two days whether it was stalling, or finding the right amount of throttle to give it coming out of first gear. My bike has a big breather on it so using the rear brake will take some adjusting and getting used to. Was actually using my front brake coming into a turn, and found out the hard way, by laying my bike down, but watching this video along with your shifting video has given me more confidence for sure. Planning to get my permit to legally practice, then taking my state’s riding course the first weekend of May. Mr. Hardt, what tips would you give for a young man like me to ease the nerves and help get the fundamentals down?
Ive been riding my whole life and i still do it, i just have a good track record with catching it. Im 27, so I'm about 13 years into riding daily, i own that shit
First time on a motorcycle and no helmet. "But it's only in the parking lot." You see how the bike pulled him down head first, with both hands still on the bars? Funny they ended the video before the impact.

NEVER LET ANYONE RIDE YOUR HARLEY!! I’m sure you know that now. But that iron is sweet. I’ve got the 1200 custom and I love her. Her name is Sheryl
First time riding I flipped my bike over doing that
I did that… once. We all have😂😂
Oh my god what a horrible crash, hope he gets better soon 🙏
Hit the gym friend
Yay for crash bars

It stalled cause he let off the clutch right? ( I’m new)
I’ve never ever ridden a motorcycle before and even I know dumping the clutch is bad…
what happened?

He is lucky he wasn't on a 1981 maico 490. Instant loop out!
So what did he do wrong ? I’ve never rode a bike ?
I think I would be upset and worried all at the same time
He let go of that clutch so fast lol without putting it in Neutral 😂
Haha, ow 🤪🤪😂
Got my first yesterday, laid it down for the first time today. It sucks and is very embarrassing, but it’s part of it

Bike looks and sounds great. Crash bars save the day. Is that an iron?
“Sure I have. Been riding all my life”! 😂
Well now he knows about the clutch and neutral 😂😂😂
thankfully all I've done was stall lol
EITHER PUT IT IN NEUTRAL, OR LEAVE THE CLUTCH ON

Everyone does it at some point
😂
😂😂 def broke the license plate bracket. I don’t see rear crash guards. Don’t ask me how I know 😂😂😂😂

Bro let off the clutch which made the bike turn off
Bike looks and sounds great, though!
Looks familiar but what were you thinking
Correction. You let a dude with newbalances and a pink shirt ride your Harley.
You’ll get it. I was on my back looking up at the sky my bike was across the intersection.
I thought people were stupid "how can you drop it smh" pulled in the garage hopped off the bike let go of the clutch an boom dropped it 😂
What kind of HD is that?
He let that clutch go too soon
My rule is this, if you want to ride my bike you better have a bike just as nice as mine so i can take it when you hurt my bike.
Lol put her neutral before releasing your hand from the clutch😂 and use the engine cut off switch and turn off fuel and kick stand then release.
I've lost some good friends because I would not let them ride my Harley Davidson or my ZX-10R
😅😂 thankfully crash bars exist! 😂
lol “OH”
