I bought these thinking they would be an upgrade to my fit as the old drops I'd run were really narrow. These do have a better feel to the width but without hoods these feel like shit lol got them from a bike swap but I'm not feeling them. I need to print some false hoods and see if that improves my comfort

oh wow i’d love those but i’m used to no hoods
i do see fake hoods for sale sometimes, but ofc it depends on bar width
My road bike has similar aerobars. I have a little square of skateboard griptape on the tops. It’s nice when you’re climbing or need to change position without worrying about slick hands
Just say you don’t want to be KOH!
Imma known drop hater, I’m usually never in them so I just rock bullhorns now
I’ve also got a pair of these, and I just can never find the comfortable angle on them. I agree if they were bunch bars you could ride the like bullhorns
I think my hands might be too small to grip the tops comfortably
Yeah but think how cool the bike looks when it’s parked
Your bike look really good, what’s your build if you dont mind 🙂
what are the bars and size? they look nice atleast
i have 3d printed false hoods on my zipp bars and i like them. i found the file on thingiverse and attached them with giant zip ties

If you have a printer there are a couple of free files available.
Coming from riser and bullhorns I’m not used to dropbar and I find the false hood does help a lot with hand placement.
This one is a slight modification from the model from printables.
Just trying on an old handlebar from the coop.

It could feel off as well because the reach is now longer. Every time you go wider or narrower it changes the length of the reach because it’s is still longer or shorter on the diagonal. Raising or lowering the stack hight can also affect the reach because bringing the bars down is bringing them further from your chest (also depends on your riding position and flexibility). That looks like a sick custom paint job on the stem too so it might be worth it if you have a spacer above your stem to bring it up and see if that makes the reach more comfortable (and it might make you more aero if you can keep your elbows bent). Another adjustment you could make is bringing the saddle forward but this can change the weight distribution and peddling mechanics too. I have used the njs 3D printed hoods and I love mine also.
