Hi!
In my most recent adventure, I loaded the van with my kit and headed for Scotland. Packed with more than enough stuff for a 4 day trip, my folding chair and a hip flask of whisky I was excited to get back out there.
I cycled just over 200km inspired by a route I got from Charlie Loves Gravel (check out her channel, it’s ace). My plans were never going to be set in stone, allowing me to change and adapt as much as I wanted or needed.
I visited Ben Alder Forest for a camp in the mountains, Corrour Station for dinner and breakfast, Rannoch Station and other amazing places along the way. I aimed for the camp spots, rather than completing a route in a certain time limit.
It’s been a while since I’ve been out, out, and it was becoming easy to not bother or make the effort. This trip has reignited the love of bikepacking and exploring again – I hope you enjoy it as much as I did when I was there.

Loved it Alan, thanks for sharing.
great vlog
I'm very familiar with the routes and areas you rode in having bikepacked in the Ben Alder and Ardverikie estastes for years. What more could you want, beautiful scenery and lots of fit women wearing close fitting legwear. 😉 PS.. It is the first bridge.
Excellent! Really enjoyed that!
Can you post the route please? Looks fantastic!
Thanks Allen for another brilliant inspirational video. You had some competition given I have Netflix Discovery + etc but none of them had anything to compete with you. I once walked a short length of the West Highland Way from Fort William and it made me realise you need to get out into the wilds to see the real beauty of Scotland. You've now got me thinking of cycling a short route up there.
A great video as always 🚲⛺
Thanks very much for that Allen 🙂👍
What a fabulous adventure you took us on and thank you for no overwhelming music in the background to ruin it.
thank you for this!!! i love watching people enjoy scotland, it makes me happy
SO GOOD! My fave yet!
What an absolute mint video, thank you for sharing
Brilliant Allen, absolutely loved it 🤟
Wonderfully engaging video, Alan.
Superb video, bro. Thank you for highlighting what we have here. We are so lucky, yet so many natives never experience it's beauty. Still, I thank you.
Great video buddy… Glad I stumbled across your channel. New sub from me. Thanks for reminding me how much I love this area….. It's been at least a year since I've visited. Now planning a trip based on your footage 😉
Que mes del año es? Me gustaría ir en julio/agosto pero la lluvia siempre me para y dicen que en escocia llueve mucho en Julio…
WHAT month of the season is It? I want to go there but alwais I chosse another places at the end, they said that july is not a good time to travel on bike there…
Congratulations…. fantástic work…thank you for the inspiration…

Loved the video, one of your best 👍
They've resurfaced that cycle lane since I was on it last.
I really enjoyed this film. Brought back memories of previous trips. I’ve yet to tackle Rannoch Station (past Loch Laidon) to Kingshouse. I’ll get round to it one day.
Great film. Love that area. Have you got a map/gpx of the route you did?
Beautiful video, inspirational thank you. I have DM you on insta, to ask if you would kindly send me the GPX.
Hi Allen, thanks for taking us on a tour of your beautiful country with this video. It was amazing! Greetings from Mexico
Travelled the very same trails when I did JOGLE back in 2022.
Passed Dalwhinnie going the opposite way!
Yeah, this is so fucking cool – thanks!
What are those pants you wear, Allen? They look great for cold weather riding
I’ve been over-there for 1 night before (10:13)
What bags are you using on your front forks?
Wow so glad I found this to watch. Such beautiful countryside, and such a well made video. Loved the music & mood. Thanks so much for sharing this!
Note to you, what is the point of a cycling cap underneath a helmet with a peak ?
Inspired me to do a similar ride, was that a named ride or made up as you go,
Well, this is a find! Excellent.
Interested to what you listen to on your headphones? Great vid!
Bonnie indeed 👌🇦🇺
Really motivating, thanks for the video !
Some paved roads have a very rough surface which is horrible to ride over due to all the vibration.
In the highlands , what percentage of paved roads would you say are like this as opposed to smooth?
The reason I ask , is trying to determine whether touring is Scotland using paved roads is vialable on a sports recumebent trike with 28mm tyres or whether it would be a horrible experience and require the touring trike with 47mm tyres and suspension.
How many miles a day do you cycle in the highlands?
Great route and video!Do you have a link to it? Many thanks. Peter
I really enjoyed this. Brought back memories of routes I’ve bikepacked myself over the years. I’ve yet to tackle Rannoch Station to Glencoe (passing Loch Laidon). There’s about 3km of hike a bike bog hopping in the middle tho.
That must’ve been a brilliant experience. Can I ask what cycling trousers you wear? Thanks
Love this, and love your positive attitude to life! Would be very happy to cross paths with you on the road some time. I'm planning a month long bike trip around Scotland atm and the route you took looked ace. What time of year did you go? And do you have any recommendations for routes I should go on? All the best 🙂
Great video that. Love the drumochter pass, such a stunning part of the NCN.
Do have a link to the route you took? Looks epic
Allen, anychance of getting the route please ? Looks amazing great video of trip ❤
What a ride. Thank you for sharing
I think that section in Corour estate through the woods is one of the fanciest bits of 'gravel' I've ever ridden, could have taken an F1 car along it. Cracking video, lots of inspiration
Is there anywhere like strava you share your routes Allen? Great vid
Was great to see you at Courror station. That was a really wet and windy night! Can't believe it was nearly a year ago already. Thanks for another great video Allen. 😀
Hi Allen, planning a ride into the highlands next year, could you please send through a link to the route (apologies if you have posted already). Thanks
Epic, thanks for the beautiful share.
Perfection. Humbling. Thank you. X
