  1. It’s just a cotter pin, bend it to get it out, then straighten it up and put it back through the other side of the caliper to prevent the same problem next time

    Cut it out, then put the new in from the other side if you dont want to remove it. Its just two bolts though.

  3. Pretty sure that’s supposed to be a bolt, then a cotter pin secures the end of the bolt.

    But regardless you can bend the head of the cotter pin to make room. I would leave it bent as you don’t want to repeatedly stress it and risk it breaking.

    How’re you compressing the pistons without pulling the caliper or damaging the rotor?
