Scott Spark. Cotter pin cannot be fully removed from calipers because it hits the upper arm of the rear triangle (it’s not really a seatstay). Is there a way to change my pads without removing the calipers from the frame? This seems like a bit of a design flaw, no?
Do I need to remove the calipers to change pads?

It’s just a cotter pin, bend it to get it out, then straighten it up and put it back through the other side of the caliper to prevent the same problem next time
Cut it out, then put the new in from the other side if you dont want to remove it. Its just two bolts though.
Love your music, who is it?
Pretty sure that’s supposed to be a bolt, then a cotter pin secures the end of the bolt.
But regardless you can bend the head of the cotter pin to make room. I would leave it bent as you don’t want to repeatedly stress it and risk it breaking.
Haha, bike mechanics way of an april fools joke.
How’re you compressing the pistons without pulling the caliper or damaging the rotor?
