Looks like a center lock rotor. That whole big black thing will screw off. You may need a specific tool though.

  2. Its a center lock rotor. You need the same tool that fit a standard shimano hollowtech II bottom bracket cup.

  3. I’avoid everything that puts force in the motor or the axle. Getting that you do not have a vice (first best option), you should try to clamp down, tying maybe the tool and try to rotate the disc, as it was a steering wheel. Worst case scenario, you try to make the center lock nut rotate by hitting it with a screwdriver and an hammer. It will mangle it but usually discs come with new nuts.
Last resort, you go to someone who has a vice, clamp the nut and un do it.

  4. Do you have a hole saw? Make a hole in some wood big enough for the opposite spoke flange (is the the right word?) to rest on the surface. Mark the surface of the wood through each spoke hole. Get some wire nails that are small enough for the head to fit through the spoke holes. Knock a nail into each of the marks you made on the wood. Put hub onto nails.

That should be strong enough to hold it while you apply the required force without damaging anything.

  5. I’ll vouch for the strap wrench ‘boa’ method with the rubber strap around the hub shell and then use some Knipex Pliers-wrench type on the lockring tool/bit. Good luck!
