Firstly thank you to everyone here for helping me single-speed my kids jump bike. He is happier and there’s less to break. Win win hopefully!
One last thing – do i need a washer on the outside of the dropout to protect the frame? The bolt is taking the paint off which i don’t care about but is it safe?
And do i need a tensioner on the back to stop the wheel moving?

You can get washers with grooves that will increase the grip, which would be advisable here.
No you don’t need a tensioner, if it’s moving then tighten the nut more. It’ll need to be quite tight. The washer may help with that though.
Thank you!
looks good to me as long as there is about 1/2 in – 1 in of slack in the chain.
by no means do you m need a chain tensioner but they are handy sometimes!
yes, absolutely. washers are a must.
chain tensioner does not hold wheel in place, axle nuts do, at 30-40Nm.
The axle nuts already look like they are getting rounded, so might as well grab a new set of axle nuts while you are getting serrated washers.
lastly, looks like your the top of the brake pads are above the top of the rotor. Double check to make sure you have 100% pad contact
They make horizontal chain tension inserts that make fine adjustments easier. Other than that some washers will help but not needed with a chain tensioner.
