  1. I think you’re already on the right track: It could be linked to humidity. It’s not a matter of whether it’s stored in a more dry environment, it’s a matter of whether the humidity is the same. The condensation is formed either way.

    You will get condensation when you move the bike from a warm, dry environment just as well as if it was stored cold and humid.

    Could be some surface oxidation/moisture buildup based on moisture condensing on cold metal in a warm room
