Tried a couple of 28mm tyres in my canyon endurace AL 6 rim brake. What you guys think about the clearance? Specs say 25mm is max. I just thought of trying, just for a bit more comfort. didn't ride on it yet.
Manufacturers are VERY conservative about what will fit. In my experience, you can always fit the next larger tire size and possibly more pretty easily. There is an EU standard that says the min clearance should be 7mm between the frame/fork and tire on each side. Unless you’re riding a badly out of true wheel or picking up lots of mud you should be able to get by with 3-4mm of clearance on each side.

A lot depends on rim width as well can influence a lot how wide actually the tire gets when inflated. I think mine is okay, probably yours is too.
Try it. It might rub, depending on the stiffness of your wheels. Typically you can put a little more than officially recommended
