during World War II General Motors had a division that manufactured a tiny but terrifying weapon it was called The fp45 Liberator and it was a cheap singleshot pistol the idea drop them into enemy territory from aircraft that way resistance Fighters could take out one soldier that steal a real weapon but after producing about 1 million of these tiny pistols very few were actually ever used on the battlefield

  2. WW2 resistance groups and fighters did some amazing things. Definitely recommend going down the rabbit hole of all the different heroic groups and people.

  3. enemy soldiers were likely accompanied with other enemy soldiers, so firing a single shot wasn't likely to be beneficial.

    if the shooter missed, he was out of rounds, outnumbered, and outgunned.

    even if he hit his mark, the other enemy soldier was likely going to open up and kill the resistance fighter.

    I wouldn't try to do anything with those single shot guns unless I'd do the same thing with a knife. At least a knife could be reused, and wouldn't draw attention with a loud "bang"

  4. This pistol is very cheap. It cost about $2.40 for one. Unfortunately, as the narrator said, it's use was very small. After the war, many were melted down or thrown into the sea. Plus, it fires one round at a time using .45

  5. i don't understand how the liberator was terrifying weapon, it only shot 1 .45 acp round at a time and had no rifling and a very short barrel so it was inaccurate as could be
