Back wheel rolled over a 4 inch deck screw and punctured a Zipp 303 Firecrest rim. Can I retape it with tubeless tape and ride it? Or do I need a new rim?
Is it one of the new rims with the lifetime warranty?

Happy new rim day. Sorry

I’d ask Zipp (through your dealer) if this is covered under the lifetime warranty – they sorted out a pothole-damaged 404 for me very quickly and without fuss. Give it a shot!

If it just went through the inside I would tape it up and run it with no worries.
If it went through the whole rim I’d put a little epoxy around the holes, tape it and run it with minor worries(back wheel only).

I wouldn’t ride it, personally. Wheels undergo a lot of stress.
It’s worth filing a claim with Zipp. They probably won’t send you a new one free, but may do a discount.

The damage seems to be on a very small area, and if it was my wheel I would keep riding it.
Maybe someone who is familiar with carbon fiber could say if it would be better to fill that hole with something like epoxy.
