    That’s a cottered crank; yes use CRC or WD40 or Penetrene.
    Before you get too excited try steering the bike. It has rear-ended something; you can tell by the forks which point a little backward below the head. Does the front wheel / mudguard touch the down tube when you steer?

    What’s the problem? Are you unable to turn the nut at all or what?

  3. Forks look bent, probably from a front on collision.

    Definitely check the head tube and underside of the downtube around the weld for signs of damage before putting money in to that frame.
