    Before buying new levers, I’d recommend moving your current levers farther down the drops. They’re really high up right now, and that’s likely causing your reach problem. If that solves the problem, it would open up a lot more options if you still want to replace them.

    I’m realizing these older bars are meant to be ridden in the drops, rather than on the hoods. When I rotate the bars down and the levers are nearly vertical, the reach isn’t passable.

    So, new question: anyone have recommendations for modern bars to swap in that will imitate the vintage look but be setup for riding the hoods?

  3. Some modern levers have a reach adjustment screw. I’ve made and glued wedges in place to reduce reach.
