Great Britain’s Matt Richardson becomes the first person to go sub-nine seconds in the flying 200m, setting a new world record time of 8.941 seconds in Konya, Turkey.

Well done
I cant even go 80 kph downhill 😅
Jesus
Records are worthless cuz they keep letting them cheat with high tech bikes. Cycling sucks now on the road as well with the hideous, worthless, constantly changing new bikes. Sport has no integrity anymore. Bikes were basically unchanged for decades after their period of sufficient development. Should’ve kept just plain steel frames. No aero.
I heard the sonic boom just has he crossed the line. Outstanding.
Wonder what gear he is on and watts
Does anyone know the peak speed or the 100m splits ?
anaerobic overdrive
What is the gearing ? That crank looks huge ! Congratulations MR. One of my favorite events in all of sports.
New Aussie national record?
Who was the auntie behind the camera on her smartphone?
Imagine what we could achive in the Enhanced Games!
om*g
Congratulations British Cycling!!! He was clearly worth the truckload of money you offered him. Don't worry about having a person of dubious character in your ranks. A total mercenary.
changing your nationality should be punishable by death lol i'll never understand how you can do that to the coaches and riders who you grew up with, i'm not even british or australian
Did no professional film it?
Back to the 'jiffy bag' Country. Of course he'll win.
Wickidddd
Insanely FAST! Incredible effort mate!!
Almost 50 miles an hour…as an average speed!
I do think the pusher at the beginning deserves some credit…just kidding.
Congratulations to the team!
He's definitely had his WATTabix this morning 😂
How many watts is that? 😮😮
That sure would be cool if they told us the actual time. 🙄
What's gearing?
I had to go search for the time as nothing in the video or description said the actual time (other than indicating it was a sub 9)…
Anyway, it was 8.941.
that was 200mph? idk, dont look fast too me. If a car flew by at 200mph im sure we all can physically see how fast it is
boring
yawn. Come race some crits and you'll be destroyed. Turncoat
I can do that with one leg 🍗
Amazing effort 🤘 that gear is huge … the cadence made it look slower which is weird 😵💫
That was like the worst infographic ever for the big performance.
Meh. 200m? Who cares? Liteally the most useless sporting event in cycling.
Great achievement but as someone unfamiliar with that particular event it's hard to see when the 200m even starts!
Presumably it ended when he crossed the line at 1:24 cos that's when they start cheering 🙂 so I'm guessing it started at that white line around 1:15 ?
Some on-screen captions/ timings would have helped a lot with this!
Thats our lad!!!
🤘🏻🇬🇧
Is this the Aussie
Shame they haven't given us any info
Shame there is literally only a handful of people interested enough to go and watch or was this achievement at some unratified private event?
First 10 sec of vid is crucial!
I'm sure the rules say that the pusher isn't allowed to step on the track… 🤔
0:51 Urgh!! What is that protruding into the top left of the screen?!? 😳🍆😅
Without the caption this could have been showing literally anything
Watch Melih Small in Konya 🇹🇷🚴🏽♂️ WR 8.941
Should read, the fastest man on the planet at this distance/discipline.
So what did I just watch? Time? Top speed?
Wow that's 80,53 km/h average speed🤯
this is relatable to no one
Anybody know his cadence on the record lap? Can't count the pedal strokes from this video…
With olympic tracks now 250m, they should change the event to 250m from 200m
