I’ve seen so many cool MTB to gravel conversions, that it got me curious. So i used CAD to compare a 2008 Gary Fisher Wahoo Large to a 2025 Canyon Allroad XL. I guess I was expecting a bigger difference? Cool to see them superimposed like this.

This is perhaps inadvertantly a good demonstration of why old school mtb geometry is so poor for mountain biking 🙂

Not sure how many people will come looking for a 2008 Gary Fisher Wahoo, but if you’re feeling generous, it’s never a bad idea to put the geometry data into [bikeinsights.com](http://bikeinsights.com) so other curious cyclists can “do their own research”.
XC geo (especially 90’s NORBA era) were basically road bikes for smaller wheels with more standover.
Wahoo geometry, and most 00s era XC bikes were more 80s-90s legacy than true 00s
Wonder how a more freeride oriented frame would compare.
Something from Santa Cruz, or Kona maybe? Head tube angles were steep and chain stays were short/tucked… but they were maneuverable and fun.
my 1999 Litespeed Ocoee MTB has the same geometry as my Voodoo JuJu Gravel Bike.
Definitely have an engineer here. Nice work.
