Been taking my hardrock on some more off-road adventures lately. Looking for some knobby tire suggestions. I have 2.35 tires on now and like how they feel but would love something with some more traction for the dirt and gravel while still being able to do some street miles.

I have a Maxxis holy roller rear and Maxxis ardent front on my hard rock, and while I don’t really like the look of it, it’s been fun hitting the local trails.
If I only could guarantee they would fit(I doubt they will) I would switch it up to the 2.4” holy roller front and back
Please correct me if I’m wrong but I think the “usual” tires on my radar are Schwalbe Billy Bonkers or Maxxis DTH. But there are definitely others.
You’ll get the usual xbike recommendations Billy and DTH. If you’re looking for a little more off road check out the continental race king and vittoria mezcal 26 x 2.1

WTB Trail Boss
I’ve run Holy Rollers on my ‘96 Schwinn Paramount MOS. They are good “transition” tires – good rolling resistance for pavement / hardpack and grab well on the trails.
Michelin country rocks
i haven’t used it, but the simworks super yummy looks good. all-rounder with a smooth middle and chunky edges.

The homage is another ATB tire in 26 but a lil narrower. I’ve used that on my cross check and it’s great on city streets.

I have some Schwalbe tough toms, and for muddy stuff they’ve been good but dry dusty stuff and rocks, not so much. I really wish the WTB All Terrains came in a wider option as the tread looks really nice but 1.95 seems too…retro?
26 x 2.25 Schwalbe Nobby Nic front and Thunder Burt back.
