  1. I have a Maxxis holy roller rear and Maxxis ardent front on my hard rock, and while I don’t really like the look of it, it’s been fun hitting the local trails.

If I only could guarantee they would fit(I doubt they will) I would switch it up to the 2.4” holy roller front and back

Please correct me if I’m wrong but I think the “usual” tires on my radar are Schwalbe Billy Bonkers or Maxxis DTH. But there are definitely others.

You’ll get the usual xbike recommendations Billy and DTH. If you’re looking for a little more off road check out the continental race king and vittoria mezcal 26 x 2.1

I’ve run Holy Rollers on my ‘96 Schwinn Paramount MOS. They are good “transition” tires – good rolling resistance for pavement / hardpack and grab well on the trails.

  5. I have some Schwalbe tough toms, and for muddy stuff they’ve been good but dry dusty stuff and rocks, not so much. I really wish the WTB All Terrains came in a wider option as the tread looks really nice but 1.95 seems too…retro?
