Around town I’d do the tall ones. Sight more useful than aero in in that context.

Depends how it fits you and your use case. Generally I like swept back bars for cruising and flat bars for getting rowdy.

    Is your saddle height set?

I’d prefer the swept back bars, but I would increase the saddle height to be more level with the bars.

This is Xbiking so I have to assume everyone is going to vote for the klunkers (including me lol)

If the flat bars are less than 23″ I’d be tempted to put them on and go hit a blue trail just to remind myself what it was like for me back in 1993.

But then I’d put those other bars on for sensible riding round 🙂

  6. Just keep your cables long enough to be able to switch between both. Each might have their proper use case.

  7. I let some friend of the family borrow the bike with the same “clunker“ bar, and he kept asking me why are the bars so “goofy”? Kids these days.

If you need the saddle that low that’s going to be a looong reach without good sweep on the bars, so option 2

Klunkers are just so much more ergonomic. Plus in addition to not giving you a neck ache and sore wrists, they look cooler.
