Basically what the title says. I decided to switch stems as i wanted to get in a more stretched out, aerodynamic position. Is it just me or did the old stem (3rd pic) suit the bike better as the slightly positive angle (-8° on a 71° steerer tube angle) made it roughly follow the line of the top tube?
The new stem is -21°. Also the oilslick colour is mire green than purple, which I didn't want. Ignore the orange pedals, they are temporary.

  1. I prefer the look of the first picture but who cares what it looks like? Massive cassette draws the eye away from the stem anyway 😝

  2. That is a pizza plate of a cassette!! The bars are too flared for my taste but roll with what works for you!!!

You can always use the old stem and cut the steerer to get a similar position. Just remove the spacers from below to above and test it out. I would have started there as opposed to buying a new stem.

  4. looks sick imo.

Much better aesthetics than the reverse orientation (stem angled upwards) but no shade towards anyone who needs a positive stem angle for fit purposes.

  5. They both look good. Horizontal stems need to be perfectly horizontal to look good, which yours basically is, so good to go.

Dude, did you swap an 8 degree stem with a 21 deg to get lower, whilst leaving the 40 mm spacer stack? Taking out ~10 mm of spacers would have had exactly the same effect, unless you changed the stem length too, of course
