I would replace the tires first. After that you’ll have a new bike.

Pretty much a cheap version of whatever you want to do with MTB tires. Winter commutes, mountain biking, offroad touring, rough gravel etc. Invest in parts you can move to a more “serious” bike if you get hooked, because you’ll probably eventually want to upgrade. Or just buy pauls rim brakes and 26er rene herses. whatever.
