It seems as though 2025 will be the year true lightweight climbing road bikes properly return. Over the past 12 months, a hoard of new super lightweight road bikes has hit the market, most notably, the sub six kilo Scott Addict RC. So, now that light weight road bikes are once again available with familiar mod cons such as electronic gears and hydraulic disc brakes, these feathery beasts are more usable than ever. In this video we have featured the best climbing bikes from the likes of Scott, Wilier, Bianchi, Specialized, Giant Factor and Canyon. Let us know, which would you like to take home?

  1. I recently got an S-Works Aethos with SRAM Red which I love. On sale at my LBS it was under £8k which still isn’t cheap for a bike, but a relative bargain. And it should suit my needs for years to come.

  2. I'd bet the Addict is so fragile. And there is absolutely no such thing as a drastic or huge improvement on a modern road bike. Improvement are only minimally at best, so any measured difference can be advertised as better..

  3. Slap on 300-500g on those frames and you'll get an aero frame that will lose you a few seconds on the uphills and gain more than that on downhill and on flat. Unless you weigh 50 kg or have sub 5% body fat, "climbing" bikes/frames are a waste of money… and I like climbing!
