  1. Almost every account I’ve read about these tires has called out their short tread life (and according to BRR they’re pretty thin, so it’s not surprising). Since I really liked the design of these for my riding conditions I tried them anyway as my first gravel tire (though my mix is closer to 50/50 if not more than 50% pavement as I’m always riding out the front door).

Given the caveat that I’ve rotated the tires (against people’s advice to never put a worn rear tire on the front) and I’ve patched one of them from the inside after a puncture that wouldn’t fully seal, I’m still on 2,238 miles and counting on this first pair, including a 5-day loaded tour and a few adventures on relatively tame singletrack. They’re probably going to go any day now so I already have a set of Tufo Thunderos ready to swap in, but for a ~155 lb rider I can’t complain about the life I’ve squeezed out of the Terrenos.

I switched to the Pathfinders pro because the tereno drys gave me a puncture every other day. Bit more expensive but handles way better and also im Punctureless with tubes since about 3 weeks. Even did some tours through nasty stuff, these things are not overhyped.
