Fairly new to MTB, I just got a used FS MTB (18′ Stumpjumper Alloy Comp) that came with an upgraded (from stock) RockShox 34 Pike RC/Charger with 140mm travel.
Would I see great performance gain if I decide to upgrade to the [Fox Factory 34 Fork – 27.5″ 140mm Grip 2 Boost Taper 44mm FLOAT](https://buycyclestuffonline.com/products/fox-factory-34-fork-27-5-140mm-grip-2-boost-taper-44mm-float-989-msrp?pr_prod_strat=use_description&pr_rec_id=8035fddd0&pr_rec_pid=7358270570636&pr_ref_pid=7358270177420&pr_seq=uniform) with Kashima coating? This fork costs almost as much as I paid for the bike so would like to know if the upgrade is worth it. Thanks for your help!

Here is the current fork
Can I ask if you’re feeling like you’re having a performance issue with the current fork?
The fox 34 is a great fork and would almost definitely feel better once properly setup, however like you said, being the same price as the whole bike won’t make it feel like twice the bike.
I’d be wary of spending the extra for factory level stuff with kashima (unless you just want the look) and if you’re having performance issues verify that the current fork is setup properly for you and maybe consider getting it serviced. If you’re looking for replacement lots of people with good new/barely used take-offs that would help you save some money.
No. Run the fork you have, then upgrade the entire bike in a few years.
Factory forks are a waste of money.
You wont notice the difference. I’d say save that money and get your fork and shock fully rebuilt. You will notice that difference and it will cost you a lot less
