Hi I want to get my son a new helmet now that he will be getting a bmx for Christmas.
He mainly rides skateparks and pump tracks, but also rides on the roads and trails with his MTB.
At the moment he just wears a cheap scooter helmet.
I have read that skate helmets offer better protection to the back of the head, but I’ve also seen some convertible full face/open face bike helmets.
What recommendations do you guys have for the type of helmet please?
Is one like in the photo any good?

Whatever you choose, buy one from a well known brand, rather than generic Amazon brand.
Bell, Giro, TLD, Fox, Leatt, POC… There are many and they will be certified for specific uses.
