  1. 18mm spanner is what you need for most electric bike rear wheels.
    You’ll also need to disconnect the electrics at that bulge just in front of the mech. It lines up with arrows either side.

    Also when you take the wheel out make a note of which way the washers are.
    It’s a fiddly job getting the wheel back in and aligning the washer tabs up correctly so the wheel goes back in the correct position in the dropouts. I used to use an adjustable wrench to turn the axle (which has flat sides) to get them lined up.

  2. 10000% wrong tool + incorrect usage. That mark clearly shows you didn’t even put the tool all the way on.

    Wife has a Cannondale Ebike, same type of setup.

    Need a box wrench, I also had to remove the rear derailleur to get the box wrench to have enough room to fit around bolt.

    Serious pain in the rear, now I have to carry a 3/4 inch box wrench on bike rides incase she gets a rear flat.
