Paris is on high alert as France braces for another round of nationwide protests on Saturday, October 24. The iconic Louvre Museum has shut its doors, shops have been boarded up, and bike-sharing operator Lime has restricted access to parts of the French capital amid fears of renewed violence.
Tourists arriving at the Louvre were left disappointed as the museum remained closed. Some visitors said they had been advised to stay near their hotels following last weekend’s unrest, which saw widespread looting, fires and damage to public property.
