Hey folks!

Just upgraded the other half's bike to a 2×10 GRX400 setup from Sora. Bought an FSA Tempo Adventure crankset that everything online suggests works for 9-11speed, but the chain is just dropping between the chainrings when changing down to the little ring (not too surprisingly, it doesn't happen changing up).

I've been working on road and MTB setups for years and the GRX has a slightly funkier design than I've worked on before, but I've checked stuff on YouTube and as best I can tell it's all set up correctly (also shifting fine except the dropping).

Have I been sent the wrong cranks or something or am I missing something obvious? Any help/advice much appreciated.

  1. Did you mount and adjust the derailleur it supposed to be? Aligning the white stripes om trim mode? Though it should ‘stick’ to the chain no matter the adjustment imo. Is the chain on the right way around? Text away from the wheel? (Only when a shimano chain, which is prime for perfect shifting). Kmc can be mounted both ways, sram will not work on shimano. Did you change your chain too? It should not be worn over 50% when using new chainrings, this stuff can start happening. Does it stick on another gear (chainlin)?

Why is everything so dirty? Did you have it working and took it for a ride, then it stopped working?
