The final two days of my 800km ride around northern Portugal on the Rota Norte 🙂

I nearly didn’t start this trip at all, so finishing the full route four days later meant a lot more than I expected. I love these solo trips. I always come back feeling reset, and there’s something about being in the mountains that gives me so much.

The route was stunning and I’d definitely recommend it!

This is Part 2, covering Days 3 and 4 of the trip.

The Rota Norte was created by Marco Neiva, who was incredibly helpful before I set off.

  1. The last km's are always bitter sweet on a multi day trip. I'm glad I did it; but, like you, I'm not looking forward to reality. It's great to have been in the moment and not have to think about much else for an extended period.

  2. I'm in the middle of a bike packing trip in Catalonia/Pyrnees and get back to Girona the day after tomorrow. I also nearly didn't do this even after booking my flight 4 days before I left! But I'm so glad I did now. Mental struggles are the worst

  3. Ride, eat, sleep… repeat.

It’s a great feeling because everything is so simple! 😂

I was tempted to say we could go for a ride one day, but I have a feeling you would leave me for dust. Very impressive numbers you are putting out.

Well done for all the hard work you have put into doing something like that. It’s such a great achievement! 🥳

  4. Couple of questions, I apologize if you already answered them in the first video.
    1) Did you fly your bike to Portugal or rent/buy one there?
    2) What's that harness-like thing you're wearing?
