Sean Yates – a man that needs no introduction, pro cyclist with 12 Tours to his name riding with Peugeot, Fagor, 7-Eleven and Motorola, he rode alongside cycling greats like Hinault, Indurain and Lance before going on to be one of the finest Director Sportives in the world guiding Sir Bradley Wiggins to his epic 2012 Tour de France win and all his other triumphs with Team Sky.
In this video we sit down with Sean Yates and chat about his life ***apologies if the chat with Sean goes on a bit long – I chopped half of it in editing but this guy has a fascinating knowledge of the pro cycling scene***
from early local TT success to Olympic recognition and through to the ACBB in Paris and beyond – the career of Sean Yates is breathtaking…

If your brave enough to watch the hole interview you will find that:
1. Despite his epic training rides he doesn`t feel he trained hard enough…
2. Pro team management on the Continent were terrible…
3. Hinault was an absolute animal on a bike at all time…
4. Lance and Motorola did ride Titanium bikes in the last years…
5. 365km of gravel holds no fear for a man in AF…

  1. Oh God! What an inspiration he is. Not even unfixable AF is going to keep him off his bike. He is such a legend with so many memories, thanks so much for getting him to open up on his long life in cycling, Dan.

  2. Fantastic interview with an amazing athlete. Such a great insight into the sport during that era. Brought back some great memories! Keep up the awesome work. Thank you 👍👍👍

  3. Brilliant Dan. Sean Yates is a true legend. I remember in 87 or 88 in the tour of Ireland Yates was on fire and Kelly was in great form. Yates really put it to Kelly and won the stage. In my memory it was phenomenal. I'm going to see can I find any footage. Thanks very much.
