I recently pressed in a Chris King headset on my 1994 GT Timberline frame, and after putting it all together, it appears that the top cap is not seating properly. Well, it sat like that before being pressed in as well.
For comparison, I included a photo of a similar headset with the top cap seated further down. I asked a local bike shop, and they seem to think it’s fine. However, to me it doesn’t look correct.
Does this look correct or should it be flush? If it should be flush, what could be causing the issue?
