If it fits you and is rideable and you aren’t going to have to change out a bunch of parts, of course that’s a decent price; it’s not winning any races, but that’s a solid bike you could put a whole lot of miles on. The stem is kind of ridiculous, but that’s a $40 problem maybe. I’d always think of that kind of thing as – “how much use can I get out of this?”, versus “are there other more desperate sellers I could get this cheaper from?”

    That’s not a bad bike. I had one. But it’s 25 years old, and vintage steel bikes that can only take 700×25 tires are not in particular demand. $400 seems like too much to me.
