Well, i died about 12 times watching this. Some people really are just built different.

  2. Neko Mulally said the second attempt, “was like getting fired out of a cannon into a world cup DH course.”

I just want these riders to have a good time and walk away happy after the contest, or maybe instead of the contest

Man that’s gotta be about the limit right?

Like there’s no way, at least in MTB, we ever see anyone do something bigger than this.

  5. Gonna have a hard time watching this year after Silva’s crash. That sucked to watch live.

This isn’t even mountain biking, this is mountain stunting. Silva is paralysed for life, who’s next? Red bull can go get fucked, constantly pushing for bigger and faster, fuck the athletes, get the revenue

  7. At what point is it enough? There comes a time where it’s no longer mountain biking, and that looked sketchy as hell.

I do not jump. I have questions about technique and the bike.

I’ve noticed a few situations where when the bike hits the ground the back suspension starts loading and then springs up. In a number of crashes this seems to cause the back end to lose traction at a moment when rider is changing the angle of the front tire to make adjustments. This results in a lack of stability and a wobble. In this case of this rider I wonder if that’s what caused the change in trajectory towards the side of that clay bank which then caused them to angle too far towards the edge they fell down.

Should there be stronger dampeners so when the back end hits the ground the spring loads and is severely dampened so the release is very gradual? I feel like back end suspensions need a setting or feature so it takes a longer time to decompress and that would increase stability in drops like this.

  9. I feel like it’s getting a bit much. People risking their life for adrenaline and fame, entertaining other people, to promote sugary drinks.

Sure the athletes want to do it. Some people would also play russian roulette.

I prefer watching this over russian roulette but the feeling is a bit the same.
