  1. It’d be highly unusual to damage the bearings within 1500 km. So first, check that your quick-release skewer and six rotor bolts are tight.

    If they are, wiggle the wheel with your hands near the rim and check if you can see any movement near the bearing seals at the hub. If your bearings are damaged, you should see the seals move 1 mm or so.

    The next step would be to take a video of the movement and email it over to SON. They are quite responsive in my experience. Make sure to have one person holding the camera and another wobbling the wheel to get a clear shot of the movement, as it’s hard to capture yourself.

    It could be the brake pads siding back and forth in the caliper. Turn the wheel 90 degrees and go back and forth to check for play.
