Hi all

First ever self-build, and I've come unstuck (if you'll excuse the pun) at the first hurdle.

I couldn't get the front brake hose through the fork, it seemed to be jammed somewhere so I thought I'd use my internal routing kit to drag it through.

However in my haste, I think I've used the wrong bit of the routing kit and I've got some piece of it stuck within the fork. I've tried to rattle it out, push it up and push it back and use a paperclip to try and fish it/encourage it. Also tried some WD40 to help things along but to no avail.

Wondering if anyone has any ideas on how I can fix this? Photo for reference…

In desperation….Thank you. 😥

  1. Use a magnet to try and get the routing kit out. For the hose, sometimes you can just push the hose through, otherwise if it’s empty you can run a normal brake or shift cable through the fork and run the hose up that.

  2. Get a disc brake hose, slip it completely over the blue cable and push it down into the hole. If you pulled it into something, you can push it back out.
