My MIL does not believe this is worth anything – I'm pretty sure it is, but not sure what to ask for it. Planning on FB marketplace as-is. It has been in a garage for 10+ years, has flat tires, but seems to shift thru the gears. That's all I really know to test. Any insight is helpful – not trying to get top dollar, or anything

Hey OP! Have you tried using [the Bicycle Blue Book?](https://www.bicyclebluebook.com/value-guide?mode=sell)
That might give you a good start! Also, are you able to share some better pics of the frame, and groupset? That’ll make it easier for recognizing what the bikes might be worth
It is a cool relic but certainly not worth much. You *might* be able to sell it for $100 but probably only to someone who really values Campy stuff. Not particularly rare and not in good condition. But, better to give it away than haul to the dump regardless of bike.
I’m not familiar with the brand but it is without a doubt *nice.* Worth something, probably at least $100.
Probably a late 70’s or early 80’s randoneur/touring bike based on the canti brakes. It has good parts from that time period. Lug and frame details look decent but not necessarily top-of-the-line. Please upload more pictures especially if there is a sticker that indicates frame tubing- usually a square/rectangular sticker that may have a white dove or three-digit number on it.
It has Campagnolo Nuovo Record derailleur and other Campy parts, as well as some nicer Stronglight cranks, which are each worth something.
Someone might take it off your hands, but probably won’t pay you much money for it. Depends on what group set on it, it’s Campy but can’t tell what level from this photo. It can possibly avoid the dump though. I’d take it outside, clean it off, take better photos, and then leave the price open to offers. Maybe do some research on the bike and components and on the market in your area.
Post this in /xbiking and they’ll tell you it’s worth $800.
It’s worth something, but not a fortune.
Flat tires makes no difference. Every bike that sits a while get flat tires. Even cars do. Just pump it up.
Throwing a nice bike on the dump is a mortal sin. If it doesn’t sell, give it to a bike coop. Or pump it up and start riding yourself. If nothing else it will piss MIL off.
Checkout Bikeforums.com classic/vintage section .. they can give u a pretty good estimation
Ask $100 for it on FB Marketplace. Riggios were made by Niner, and the fact that yours has Campagnolo emblazoned on it and Stronglight chainrings makes me think it would be desirable. Do not take it to the dump.

I would love to own this bike!! What size is it?
A vintage steel Italian road bike with cantilever brakes 👌 😀
That means it probably has room for larger tires too.
It’s giving me 1978 vibes.
It’s not super fancy but well above the mass market bikes for its time.
Resell prices are hard to predict. Your target market is a 67 year old lifelong Italian cyclist who is 5’3”. That person would pay $$$ but you won’t find them.
They might have more details on /r/vintage_bicycles
I give my old bikes to a charity that will give them a look over and donate to a person in need.
Got any pics? Let’s see ‘um
Above average vintage. Do NOT throw it away. I always liked those Stronglight cranks.
Where are you located? List on Craigslist or FB Marketplace.
Not worth much, but taking a bike to the dump? WTF is wrong with you/your MIL? There are charities that take old bikes, fix them up and give them to people in need.
looks small, which are somewhat harder to find in vintage frames.
i would goog image search it and make sure it’s not a bike someone in the family would like to ride. bikes haven’t changed much since this, despite what some might say
Find a co-op and donate it, would be a wonderful fixed gear conversion for someone or just a fun vintage bike. But no, I don’t think it’s worth much on the market but it definitely deserves better than a junkyard or melted for scrap.
pretty sick bike, I believe they were imported in the 70s and 80s, I’ve seen vintage perfect condition Treks with the same groupset go for $250-300. Trek has more name recognition but this is a nice italian bike. Feel free to test the market, may find someone who wants something vintage for $150-200. If all else fails I’ll give ya $100 and clean it up and ride it.
edit: sorry for some reason I thought I was in the Pittsburgh subreddit, similar sub logo colors. Def don’t dump it. Someone will easily take it for $50, personally I just like bikes so something like this would be cool to own for $100.
