Doesn’t that bolt thread into the hanger itself? Just buy a new hanger. You may have removed some paint but that’s not a huge deal.

  2. I’d call a hanger a semi-consumable part. It’s made to take the damage so your frame doesn’t. They’re like $35 for a good one, prolly $10 for an Amazon special

  3. My original Udh was plastic and stripped like that. Your looking at the threads of the other part of the Udh. Pop down to a lbs, they’re cheap and don’t over torque it!

  4. You need a new hanger, and it’s worth spending a little more on a brand name one. I thought I was being clever buying a bag of them for a few bucks each from AliExpress, and then wondered why my shifting was getting so weird. Pulled out the hanger alignment tool, and yeah, derailleur was totally misaligned – which is fine… what wasn’t fine was that bending that hanger to realign it was like bending a piece of warm cheese. It just deformed with almost no force at all. I doubt that alignment will remain good for more than a ride or two.
