Old Rookie

I’m a 43-year-old dad of three boys. The last time I owned a BMX was sometime in the early ’90s, so it’s been a while. 😅

A few days ago, my 9-year-old middle son tried a retro Csepel BMX from the early ’90s at a birthday party, and he absolutely loved it. Ever since then, he’s been bugging me about getting a BMX alongside his Woom 6.

As luck would have it, someone was selling a Mankind NXS ED Black Freestyle just a few streets away from us. I picked it up for 80,000 HUF (~€200), which is roughly 40% of the original retail price.

It has a 52 cm TT (about 20.5"), so I think the size should work pretty well. I’m 172 cm (5'8") and my son is almost 150 cm (4'11").

I have a feeling this is going to be a pretty fun little father-and-son project. 😅
