Posted a couple days ago trying to remove BB. Don’t think the chain is going to clear with the new bb. How do I go about this? Are bb spacers a thing

which part are you thinking the chain wont clear? looks like theres enough room to me. Remember that the chain rides from like 11 oclock to 7 oclock of the chainring, not really on the backside of it

I’ve definitely run closer to the chainstay than that, however that’s a mighty small (number of teeth) chainring, and you might want to have more room to change out your rings later.

One benefit to Square taper is that you can find bottom brackets in basically every single size under the sun. According to the markings on that BB label, you’ve got a 111mm spindle. Jury’s out on whether that’s offset (right side longer than the left) or not, but you could certainly get a 113mm spindle bottom bracket.

And no, spacers aren’t really a thing, not for this particular application. You could put a spacer on the Drive side of the bottom bracket, but then that would shift the entire assembly to the right (your left foot’s Q factor will be off, also that crank might get too close to the chainstay)
