As the title suggests, today was my first day making my way to the train station in snow. I managed to stay upright and only had one sketchy moment when I tried to turn with a little bit too much speed. I recovered and was able to make it with a dry butt. I know things will be frozen over by the time I get out of work, so I prepared by putting a studded tire in front, even!
I owe all of that to you wonderful people (and a couple of YouTubers) who gave such great advice that I followed with glee. Thank you!!
One teeny question though: does it ever get less terrifying in the dark? Last night was around 27°F and it had been lightly snowing all day. I had no idea what was coming (ice, wet, slush, etc) just because the weather here is so weird that there could have been a thaw/freeze cycle by the time I was heading home. I changed my route so the steeper downhills I face were on dirt roads, but other than that—what else can I do to make it less scary?

Scrolling by, trying to figure out this weird bike with a wheel seat.
No answers, but I can recognize a Brilliant L train when I see one! I have the cooper. Hope you’re loving it!
We have no snow in MN, but NM has snow? Yeah, climate change is *totally* a hoax!
Bike looks good in the snow! Big lights at night help and studded tires if you have lots of ice. I throw a pair of rain pants on for protection from road muck, but I rarely ride in snow.
