The London Metropolitan Police have turned their focus to illegal e-bike use as investigators attach illegal use of the vehicles to the hot-button issue of phone snatching.

  1. It's only taken the police 5 years to start this campaign. Too little too late.
That's only 8 a day, in terms of the number of delivery cyclists out there, this is insignificant.

  2. i hate you geniunly instead of targetting actual crimes like rape gangs antisocial behaviours and theft not just taking scooters or bikes that are eletric make it so its legal if it goes a certian speed like 25kmh

  3. Pathetic really, statistics show horse riding to be More dangerous than ebiking. Horse riders dont pay insurance to be on publoc roads either despite them being 75Γ— less popular they kill similar amount of people per year to ebike road accidents.

Horse riders also dont have power limits like ebikes. Why have they got the privilege to ride a 600kg 40mph horse without insurance but I on my 30kg ebike will get my bike seized because its illegal. Even though it still got pedals and csn be limited to 250w 0.3hp.

Horses have the equivalent of 11,000w of motor power or 15hp, yet i can even have over 0.3hp on my ebike because its dangerous?

  4. notice how they only seized regular ppl or ppl working, they want to stop crime on these bikes but innocent people suffer, regular people get it taken away and criminals can run away

  5. Local council Not making enough money from there rented bikes and scooters. Own nothing.
Rapes, stabbings all on Britain's streets and they go after bikes. πŸ˜‚

  6. God forbid anyone should use their leg muscles to ride a bike. I HATE ebikes. I am a bike rider and they are a fu"Β£$ng menace on the roads and cycle ways, and don't even get me going on about e-scooters. I see them everyday and I'd say that 95% of them are illegally modified contraptions and I don't live in London. The police are tackling only the tip of this iceberg, these bikes are everywhere. Us ordinary cyclists are a minority. I blame the politicians for not introducing early legislation to control their usage

  7. I think the crackdown is excellent. People on ebikes going at 40mph on pavements missing or hitting children and people as they go. Heavily used for crime and social disobediance. Its unfortunate for people that use them sensibley but more do not.

  8. When I was 40+ years younger, delivery cyclists delivered letters and parcels, sometimes food, to various locations without electric motors on their bikes. They were in excellent shape, and their average speed wasn't too far off electric bikes.

  9. This criminal filth mirror is Cia scum and scum trash πŸ—‘οΈ hired dei low class trash and unfit for uniform you all UK and USA scum are trash πŸ—‘οΈ

  10. You're not allowed a throttle on a e-bike but yet you can have one on a E scooter same difference and if you have a private E scooter you're not allowed to ride it on the road but you can rent a scooter… all about them making money

  11. There are hundreds if not thousands of these in London being used by all the food take away delivery riders. They know they are illegal but they use them anyway because it gets then around quickly which equals more drop offs equals more money.
I watched them for years running red lights and mounting pavements just to avoid a red light . They are dangerous but they just don't care.
The very fact the people riding them are illegal immigrants they should not be here in the Frist place

  12. I'm sick of these bikes and the idiots too lazy to go pick up their own food who are encouraging it. And its all well and good targetting the west end what about the rest pf london that is blighted with these things?

  13. And the illegal migrants. Will the police be taking the same approach towards them ? Conferscating them for being unlicensed and a threat to society ? It almost seems like you could kill two birds with one stone here……. just an observation πŸ™„πŸ™„

  14. don't mention that! its much more safer to chase electric bikes. If they really want this to stop, stop the importation of it. its like going after a drug user but completely ignoring the dealers. smh
