Hi everyone,
Yesterday I noticed a crack on my 2020 Trek Remedy 8. It’s on the lower suspension stay, in a pretty unusual location. There are no welds or joints in that area, so I’m not really sure how or where the crack could have started.
Does anyone know if Trek would potentially cover something like this under warranty?
The bike has been used normally, basically for what it was designed for — riding local trails and around the city. It has never been used in the mountains or for anything particularly extreme.
I’d really appreciate it if anyone has had a similar experience with Trek and could share what happened with their warranty claim.

If you can prove you are the original owner the answer is very likely yes.
I believe trek covers alloy chain/seat stays for 5 years for original owner. If you are the original owner, take it to a shop and ask them to file a claim, even if you’re outside of the warranty period. The worst they can do is say “no.”
Damn I should check my 2017
