Is St Albans really one of Britain’s best cities? I had 30 minutes to find out.
In this St Albans vlog, I explore the high street, the iconic Clock Tower, St Albans Cathedral, Ye Olde Fighting Cocks (one of Britain’s oldest pubs), and Verulamium Park, giving you a completely honest POV look at whether this Hertfordshire city lives up to the hype.
If you’re planning London day trips or a UK city break, St Albans might just surprise you.

UP and down!!
That was a quiet day. We have markets that fill those streets a few days a week.
Great video, subbed.
Someone used to publish large paperback called "great walking tours of England " or that kind of thing. Used one in the 70s. It would start you off at a set place in town then worked like Google maps , turn left and in 100 meters you will see the …. whatever. They were great back then. Mom was in charge of the narrative.
My brothers have nicknamed it st hillbans 😂 and yes try walking from st albans Abbey train station to black Smith Arms by time you've arrived your feel that smashed you won't want a pint 😂
Miles, the Cathedral is a LOT older than 700 years!
Nice review postive
I recommend Lincoln, it has a very similar vibe to St Albans but is a bit bigger. I’m very familiar with both cities & often find similarities. You missed the former Archbishop of Canterbury’s grave in the graveyard, Robert Runcie who served as Bishop of St Albans before his appointment to the top Church of England post.
Great video! I always enjoy a visit to St Albans. Its been a while since I last visited and I've not yet visited the Wetherspoon there.
Busy ? – That's actually pretty quiet for St.Albans.
There are now around 6 mobile phone shops now in St Albans.
I live here. I moved from Manchester to here. I live in the City Centre. It is amazing. Thank you for sharing.
