Hi,
My 2024 Brompton Electric has been cutting out yesterday and today has now stopped working completely.

I had a look at the pins where the battery connects to the bike and noticed that one of the pins has a red/copper-coloured mark on it. I’ve tried cleaning it off, but it doesn’t seem to want to come off.

I also noticed a similar discolouration inside the corresponding socket on the battery where the pin connects.

I’m going to take it to Brompton Junction tomorrow to get it checked out, but I’m guessing the pin and/or socket may be damaged or burnt out?
Has anyone come across this before?
Thanks!

  1. At first I thought it might just be metal shavings, which are common around the magnetic connectors and usually wipe right off. But if it won’t come off and the same thing is happening inside the socket, that looks like actual wear or burning, if that then definitely something else.

Update post on what junction diagnosis is and  advises.
