While cleaning my less than 1 year old Aeroad I noticed what I’m hoping is just a crack in the paint. I’ll be reaching out to Canyon support but hoping to get some other opinions on what may be happening here or if this is safe to continue riding.

The bike has never been crashed and nothing memorable has happened in this area. The bike itself has been ridden about 2600 miles since I got it last December. Any idea if this might fall under warranty if it is actually cracked carbon?

  1. That doesn’t look right. Push it with your thumb and see if theres some sort of softness around, and wait for Canyon. Is it a CFR ?

  2. That’s a crack. Pretty typical area as well: That’s where the chain stays and the bb section are bonded together

  3. The top of the tube has what appears to be a different paint tone. If you look at your wheel and that area it appears that you are scrubbing it pretty hard. The last picture though makes it appear that it’s a crack. The rubbed area on the frame and wheel are what scuffs look like, the white that you see looks different from the lines that appear to be cracked. Especially in that last picture the crack seems to be running. Could be just paint cracking but it appears to be a crack.
